Kaizer Chiefs bounce back in style against Maritzburg United

Kaizer Chiefs recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Maritzburg United in a league match that was played at FNB Stadium on Wednesday.

Khama Billiat and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo scored for the Glamour Boys as they moved up to third on the PSL log.

Arthur Zwane was again on the bench as Stuart Baxter is still out recovering from Covid-19, and he named an interesting line-up.

Zwane brought back Njabulo Ngcobo and Ramahlwe Mphahlele; the only two changes from the previous game against Royal AM.

The visitors had an early chance 10 minutes into the game as Leletu Skelem found Amadou Soukouna inside the Chiefs box but the latter fired wide.

Zukile Kewuti then set up Phumlani Ntshangase after the half-hour mark but with his weaker foot, the former Bidvest Wits man also failed tj hit the target.

Amakhosi hit back, and they were rewarded as Njabulo Blom stormed into the Maritzburg box before setting up Billiat who made no mistake.

Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya should have doubled the Chiefs lead soon afterwards as he failed to convert let alone hit the target from a Keagan Dolly ball.
