This comes after Chiefs’ 1-0 loss to SuperSport United on Saturday which prompted a section of fans to call for the immediate sacking of Baxter.

Speaking to iDiski TV, Khanye said Baxter shouldn’t have been brought back by Chiefs in the first place, saying his style play was never going to work with the current crop of players.

Khanye said Baxter was successful in his first stint simply because he good enough players who played and won games on their own without his coaching methods.

The now football pundit made mention of the likes of Tefu Mashaimaite, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Bernard Parker, Siboniso Gaxa, and Itumeleng Khune as players who made Baxter’s tenure a success.

Khanye’s main criticism of Baxter is that he cannot get the best out of his players, saying what is happening at Chiefs right now is evidence enough.

JUNIOR KHANYE QUESTIONS STUART BAXTER’S RETURN TO KAIZER CHIEFS

“I will talk about Stuart. I said it a long time ago… why did they bring him back? You see the way he used to play (during his first tenure), Yeye was on top of his game,” said Khanye.

“I said it before, this thing needed to be checked deeply. In most cases, he was relying on older players. His team was more experienced.”

“He defended with older players, who were experienced and played at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in his first eleven… Mashamaite, Tower… national team players.

“(Carlos) Parreira used to play with those guys [at Bafana Bafana]. At right-back, he had Pa Gaxa, Bernard Parker, Tshabalala, Yeye. I’m talking about players who played at the World Cup… Khune at his best.”

“So, they were winning games on their own. It was not him. They were playing good football on their own. So, he didn’t add anything to that team. He’s now failing to get the best out of players,” concluded Khanye.
