It is reported that a video of a man who looks similar to Elon Musk was posted on the Chinese version of TikTok, Duoyin before finding its way onto other social media platforms. The Chinese man is posing next to a vehicle in a parking lot and smiles at the camera.

Reacting to the video, netizens dubbed Musks’ Chinese lookalike “Yi Long Musk” while debating whether the video was created using Deepfake or not.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Deepfake allows one to take a photo or video and edit it to make it look like the real deal.

One Facebook user wrote: “It’s a deep fake. There’s a small glitch when he speaks as the camera is panning around; it’s in the eyes and the mouth, looks delayed.”

The video sparked responses from netizens all over the world. Sharing a screenshot of the image, a Twitter bot account said Musks’ Chinese lookalike looks more like Elon Musk more than Elon Musk looks like himself.

One tweep suggested that Musk could hire the Chinese lookalike as a “security double”.

Another wrote: “If Elon Musk runs for President I guess he hs a very good chance to win.”

“Elon Musk will find him and will click a selfie with him & that will be a f*cking meme.”
