National team coach Hugo Broos admitted this week that he had serious concerns around Percy Tau and his form and fitness.
“Percy has a little problem for the moment, I think it’s not the Percy we are used to seeing, I know him very well from Belgium before Christmas there were a few injuries so he didn’t play for weeks,” stated Broos on iDiskiTimes.
“So I thought [his struggles] was [due to] that because he struggled with the tempo of the games but now I saw him playing on Saturday, it’s not Percy Tau, so I don’t know what’s happening to him. I will talk to him.” Broos added.
Broos has promised to have a heart to heart with the striker.
“I have to know because he can help us a lot with his talent but we need the best Percy Tau, but we’ll see.
“That’s the problem, I said many times, this level of competition has to go up and it’s also good for the players who play abroad, the difference is so big for those guys and they need some time to adapt.
“Percy was not playing in England and could understand because that’s not the type of player for England, but now in Egypt, he has to be a standard player in the team but he has problems also.”
