It’s so clear, the majority of Kaizer Chiefs are fully behind Arthur Zwane despite one win in five games as the interim.
The former winger has used his media airtime superbly while also showing the right signs on the matchday grass.
ZWANE CRIES FOR ‘REAL’ KAIZER CHIEFS MIDFIELDERS
During his recent chats with the media, Zwane said his current players do not play with the freedom, confidence, and arrogance needed at Amakhosi.
“We are trying not to be so predictable in attack,” Zwane said last month after his first game which was a 1-0 loss to Stellenbosch FC.
“When we reach the final third we should have that element of surprise.
“We need to play with flair, at Chiefs there must be an identity and we will try and push the style of play and how we want to win.“
“Mentally the players need to be strong, and as technical staff, we should play a role in helping them to be calm and not to be worried about losing the ball,” added Zwane.
“That is the fear they have, once a player doesn’t have confidence they always kick the ball into the air,” Zwane concluded.
THREE DREAM ATTACKERS KAIZER CHIEFS MUST LOOK AT
So with that being said, we have looked around in the PSL for the type of players that possess the attributes Zwane has described.
It is worth noting that a few or possibly all of the players listed will be rather difficult to sign. All four players are currently contracted with their current clubs, and as we have seen over the past years, Kaizer Chiefs’ transfers model avoids buying players out of their contracts with mega fees.
However, things may change in the coming window, who knows?
Meanwhile, here is a list of four players with the technical ability, flair, speed, improvisation, and attacking excitement that would delight Kaizer Chiefs crowds while also complementing the likes of Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly.
- Hashim Domingo, 26, Mamelodi Sundowns
The Ajax Cape Town academy product announced himself as one of the best players in the star-studded Sundowns team this season. But he is obviously not yet happy with game time. Allowing him to move to Amakhosi is nearly impossible though.
- Kamohelo Mahlatsi, 23, Swallows FC
The Sebokeng-born player has displayed some of the finest vision in the PSL this season as Swallows FC’s creative nucleus. His nickname “Nyaope” tells you everything you need to know about his ability on the ball. Had Swallows’ strikers been lethal, the Birds should be far off the bottom with the chances Mahlatsi has created.
- Sibusiso Vilakazi, 32, Mamelodi Sundowns
Known as “Vila,” the Meadowlands-born player has one of the finest touches we’ve ever seen in the PSL. Making decisions in the final third with 50 000 fans screaming in your ears is what separates the ice-cool Vila from the rest.
OTHERS TO WATCH OUT FOR
There are additional names we shouldn’t forget. One of them has already been heavily linked with Amakhosi: Sipho Mbule from SuperSport United.
Other possible fits include the likes of Lesedi Kapinga (Mamelodi Sundowns) and Thembinkosi Lorch. Moving to join the enemy sounds impossible but drama happens, and Lorch has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs in recent times.
